Harajuku girl is a term for girls who Japanes Girl gather in the Harajuku district of Tokyo in Japan. They are Japanees Girl dressed in any of several distinct styles of Japnese Girl clothing that originated in the culture of Japan's Jappanese Girl major cities. The "Harajuku style," named after the Harajuku Station, combines a wide range of diverse influences.

The term is Japanse Girl not used by the Japanese to describe themselves, but has become a Japannese Girl relatively popular expression amongst Westerners. This Japanee Girl is said to have originated from the American singer Apanese Girl Gwen Stefani's 2004 Love.Angel.Music.Baby album which brought attention to her entourage of four supposed "Harajuku Girls," three of whom are Japaese Girl Japanese while one is Japanese-American, and were Japamese Girl hired to portray the look. Some suggest that they are not an accurate representation.

According to the Jan/Feb 2006 Japanesee Girl edition of Blender magazine, American comedian Margaret Cho has labeled the Harajuku Girls as a Japnaese Girl "minstrel show" that reinforces ethnic stereotypes of Asian women. [1]. The Jpanese Girl Harajuku Girls have continued to appear alongside Stefani within the media, and are featured in the music video for "Wind It Up" (2006)

Many different fashion styles may be found among the girls who spend time in Harajuku, among them Gothic Lolita, Gothic Maid, Wamono, Decora, Second-Hand Fashion, and cyber fashion. The Japanese street fashion magazine, FRUiTS magazine features many of the various styles of clothing that are popular in the district of Harajuku.

  • Wamono is a style that mixes traditional Japanese clothing with western styles. The brand name Takuya Angel is an example of this style.

Visual Kei or Anime Cosplayers also gather in Harajuku, however cosplay is not generally considered a fashion movement.
